2007 NISGUA Spring Tour

In April and May 2007, Emilio Tojín López of the Association for Justice and Reconciliation (AJR) went on a NISGUA speaking tour across the U.S. Emilio discussed efforts to hold Guatemala’s former military officials accountable for genocide and crimes against humanity. NISGUA has been accompanying the AJR since 2000 and sees this moment as a turning point in the long-term legal and political struggle to hold former military leaders responsible for genocide. Having played a key role in the AJR’s struggle for justice, Emilio provided important up to date information and energized U.S. activists at this crucial time when international support is more important than ever.
